AMEC

The Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) is a highlight for members of the Black Medical Association, offering an opportunity to connect with peers and leaders nationwide. Hosted by the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), AMEC features inspiring keynotes, workshops, and discussions focused on empowering Black medical students and addressing health disparities.

Each year BMA sends 15-30 students each year.

FUTURE PHYSICAN SUMMIT

The Future Physician Summit, created by Jasmyne Jackson and Tochukwu Ndukwe, is a collaborative initiative led by the Black Medical Association (BMA), Black Undergraduate Medical Association (BUMA), and the Office for Health Equity and Inclusion. The event inspires middle and high school students, particularly from underserved communities, to explore careers in medicine through interactive sessions and clinical workshops at the Big House. By building confidence, the Summit strengthens the pipeline for underrepresented students in medicine and uplifts future generations.

Braids, Twists and surgical knots

Pioneered by Yannet Daniel, Braids, Twists, and (Surgical) Knots (BTSK) is an outreach initiative inspiring young Black girls to explore careers in medicine through the culturally significant lens of Black hair. The workshop validates personal hair journeys, empowering participants to see their skills as transferable to the medical field. BTSK reshapes narratives and fosters confidence in future leaders.
